Eating Your Way To Health & Wellness

The Corona virus COVID-19 is out and it’s no turning back. We as a world community have to band together and utilize all of our resources to reduce impact of this virus. It will certainly spread, but the impact of the virus is what we have to focus on because we cannot stay in quarentine waiting for it to get us! So what should we do? Well, I’m glad you asked! We should empower our body system so that our body can do what it was designed to do.. to FIGHT for itself! Certain foods we eat contain wonderful components that engage the bodies immune system. These foods such as Garlic, Onions, Leeks, Scallions and Chives, contain components that are anti inflammatory and anti viral! ‘But they’re just a little bitty food’ you might say. Well, food can build you up or it can tear you down. You may know that Americans have the worst diet on the planet! That’s why we have the highest rate of disease even with our specialists and state-of-the-art technology. We have fallen to a myriad of lifestyle diseases that can be quickly reversed just by changing our bad habits. Of course this takes coaching, but you have to start somewhere.

This eating disorder that we have leaves us open to attack by invaders that break down our defense mechanism and destroy our body systematically! They’re smart yes, but the immune system is smarter, stronger and more efficient! It was designed to be our knight in shining armor to protect us! But we have to give it the correct fuel in order to do its work. Right now scientists are creating a treatment extracting components from these very foods, along with Vitamin C and other ingredients to formulate a solution to stop the invader from attacking our respiratory system. These ingredients come from foods, herbs, plants that heal the body! So while the scientist are doing their job, let us all do our job. Stop eating the junky food, the processed food, the fake food that causes us problems. Eat foods rich in nutrients like sauteed onions, peppers, mushrooms and garlic over quinoa. Try adding garlic and onion to your brown rice and roasted vegetables. You’re going to love garlic and chives on a baked potatoe drizzled with extra virgin olive oil! How about making a power packed kale avocado salad with garlic and sun-dried tomatoes. Squeeze some lemon on and create a wonderful ZING that helps to neutralize that virus… YES! Vitamin C does that! And Vitamin D is extremely important in this arsenal of nutrients. Our food is going to be our main defense against this attacker. We must do everything we can to stop it now. Staying away from gatherings, eating a healthy diet and incorporating some delicious meals and drinks that contain large amounts of these nutrients may keep you and your family out of harm’s way. Stay covered and wear gloves to protect you from picking it up at the gas pump or in the grocery store. You will be protecting not only yourself but your family. Stay home and encourage the younger ones to do the same. It’s just better to maintain a clean and sanitary home. Clean doorknobs, refrigerator handles, cabinet doors and knobs, car door handles inside and outside the car. Don’t hug. Use your napkin to open doors. Cover your face with a scarf. Don’t pick up things like pens and pencils that others have used. Stay arms length distance away from people. Get your gloves out and use them now. Your actions today will determine the outcomes tomorrow. Don’t wait on a magic potion to save you. Start with doing what you can do right now.
