Color Your Plate

This season, bring on the colors of various foods and give your belly a real treat! Your plate should POP with wonderful colors because there are a wide array of nutrients in each food color. Please be mindful not to overcook plant-based whole foods because you can actually destroy the vital nutrients that are present. Food was divinely designed to sustain you, so being careful in it’s preparation is vitally important. The Eternal has designed the plant kingdom in Divine Intelligence to protect you against illness and disease. And guess what??? It’s an awesome exchange! You feel better, house more energy, and gain more clarity! Plant-based whole food is absolutely delicious when it’s prepared properly. Here are some additional kitchen traps to watch out for as you are making your holiday plans.

  • 2 Sweet potatoes
  • 1 diced Red onion
  • 1 diced Green bell pepper
  • 1 small pkg baby Porto mushrooms
  • 3 cups Spinach and baby kale
  • 1/2 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1 sprig of fresh Thyme
  • 1 tsp Lemon zest
  • 2 TBL EVOO

Heat the oil on a low flame. Add the onions and the Thyme 3-5 minutes, then add green peppers, potatoes and seasonings (not the lemon zest yet). Sautee uncovered for 15 minutes. Chop the mushrooms and toss them in along with the spinach and baby kale. Stir 5-7 min. Add lemon zest and 1 cup of water. Cover immediately and turn off the heat. Just let it sit 10 minutes. Uncover, sprinkle with fresh cracked black pepper. Serve & enjoy!

Bitters Are Delicious!

Bitters include a wonderful range of delicious foods that we can easily pick up at the grocery store. They can be incorporated in the regular meals and make them different and add a little variety and flavor to your normal meals. In addition to fantastic flavors, bitters are great for the digestive system. They come in a wide variety and include both fruits and vegetables. You may enjoy some bitter foods more than others, so pick from an extensive list and taste away!

How many Bitters can you name? How do you use them in your meals? Start to plan out your meals around the bitters that are in season in your area and make them part of your spread. Taking The Time

Hello Friend!

Just checking in on you to ask a question. Have you taken the time to power up? Do know what means? It means cutting out a slice of time for you. We get so regimented and bogged down with busy work that we forget to take the time to smell the roses! Life is a gift and each day we must allow ourselves time to embrace that gift – even if its for just 15 min.

I want you to read how important meditation is to your health and wellness. Then I want you to click this link below and follow me on this exercise . Don’t worry about getting everything right, just take time to do it. Breathe into it. Modify it so it fits your level of ability. After you are done, right me a reply on how that felt.

Exercise the lungs is extremely important right now. What you put into your body is equally important. Wake up with water to wash away all the junk and start fresh. Water is  cleansing. It’s amazing in its simplicity.

OK, just these two things… follow me in the exercise each day for one week and wake up with a glass of water. Then send me a reply to tell me how you feel.

Health Spot Topic: The Holistic Approach to Corona Virus

This week we reviewed the holistic value of meditation. I facilitated a meditation session focusing on breathing and being present. Mediation is medically proven to have signficant effect on a number of diseases. I talked about the value of having a whole food, plant-based diet and including Vitamin C, D and herbs like Garlic, containing allicin, in the daily regimen. We also reviewed the importance of citrus rinds which many people throw out. You can actually cut up the rind and use for cleaning surfaces like the sinks and counters. The rinds may even be minced and sprinkled in the salads and desserts to get that extra boost of Vitamin C.

Vitamin D is another nutrient that experts say is essential in the battle against the Corona Virus outbreak. Taking a walk, reading a book or exercising in the sun allows you to soak up a hefty dose of Vit D absolutely FREE.

It is imperative that you brace yourself to face this virus. You can’t hide from germs. They exist everywhere and they are not sure exactly how they are spreading. The following are ways to keep yourself healthy:

-Get out in the sun (observe social distancing)
-Keep you skin peelings on ginger, turmeric, potatoes, carrots, etc
-Drink hot lemon water
-Utilize organic citrus rinds in food and cleaning
-Meditate at least 20 min daily
-Prepare fresh food
-Avoid processed food fake food, fast food and food that promote inflammatory response

The body is an amazing machine and can absolutely protect itself against any disease given the proper food intake.
